BenchCadence

RESEARCH WORKFLOW GUIDE

Keep fieldwork, approvals and analysis on one timeline.

For ecology, environmental and earth sciences, agriculture, social science and other field-based research — coordinate field dates and the work that follows them.

Field projects have fixed constraints such as seasons, weather, permissions, site access, research participants and sample transport. BenchCadence can record those dates and related tasks. It does not provide weather forecasting, ethical approval, participant consent management or data collection.

Four practical ways to plan this research workflow

1Track approvals as prerequisites

Schedule review checkpoints for ethics approval, permits, access and safety assessments. Check actual authorization in your institution's official system before any work starts.

2Separate field dates from contingency time

Keep travel, observation, sampling, equipment return and alternative dates as distinct events. Weather decisions remain with the responsible researcher.

3Keep personal and sensitive records out

Do not put participant names, contact details, patient data or sensitive protected-species coordinates into event titles or notes. Use approved secure systems.

4Schedule the post-fieldwork work

Plan sample handover, data verification, transcription, statistical analysis and report drafts so work after the visit is visible.

Illustrative planning only. Ethics, human-subject protections, local law, field safety and scientific sampling protocols must be handled through your institution and responsible experts.

Frequently asked questions

Is this useful for social science and humanities?

Yes, for planning dates and deadlines. It is not a survey distribution, respondent management, recording or personal-data storage service.

Does it automatically react to weather or permit changes?

No. Check authoritative information and update your schedule manually.
